Methods: Cannabis Awards

This post highlights Cannabis awards in Canada and abroad used to rank cannabis products on the Canadian recreational market. We take a look into the organizations and publications evaluating cultivators, products and cultivars. These awards were analyzed and allocated to represent the best cannabis products available.

For each product a Report Card is provided with information on product and cultivar rankings against competitors as well as including the number of awards and accolades received. These values are generated by analyzing the following organizations and publications:

A note on Cultivar & Parentage:

Cultivar or Strain, refers to traditional/street name associated to a product, sourced from government websites and product websites. In cases where a street name is not identified:

  • (proprietary) used to distinguish products from genetics owned by the LP

  • (blend) used for product names that rotate between cultivars or are composed of several different cultivars

  • (N/A) used when the genetics of a product have not been distinguished

Parentage

  • Sourced through government websites when available, using third party sources such as Leafly.com and Euseedfinder.com. Same applies in cases where a street name is not identified.

  • Value allocated based on a review of lineages for cannabis strains/cultivars
